Individual counselling is a process where clients work one on one with a clinician in a safe, compassionate and private environment.
Family Counselling helps family members solve problems and conflicts through improved communication, greater awareness of childhood and adolescence issues and better understanding of different relationship dynamics.
Couples or relationship counselling helps couples recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships.
Youth counselling supports adolescents with mental and physical changes and can help provide a safe space to process their thoughts and emotions.
I am trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), solution focused, strengths based, mindfulness, and trauma informed practices. I also use a spiritually infused approach with the above modalities when appropriate and desired by my client. As a mental health therapist, my role is to guide and support you on your road to recovery. Keep in mind that recovery is not only the destination but the journey as well.
My journey has been a humbling one in where I have been fortunate to work in different capacities of counselling and therapeutic supports over the last 22 years. What I have discovered and have come to appreciate through my interacting with people who have faced personal challenges, is that each individual has the profound ability to bring positive changes into their lives and that they have the capacity to overcome their challenges.
